Individual studies in acrylics and oil. Class includes various projects and assistance and guidance. Barbra has taught in the Pinellas County Adult Education Program and has been an instructor at BAC for ten years. Continuous class beginning Oct. 1 through June. This class is for the beginning student. Students will start with color mixing, color theory, brush techniques, and overall application of oil onto canvas. Specific projects designed to teach specific techniques will be taught. Students will receive a packet which has a line drawing, step by step written instructions, and a photo of the finished project. This class is an independent studies class with Taylor inspiring, instructing and critiquing. Taylor is well-known for her instruction in the use of YUPO paper and that material is furnished free of charge. Taylor Ikin is a past president and current Board Member of The Florida Watercolor Society. Her current major project is The Hillsborough Collection, a one-woman museum traveling exhibition showcasing 43 landscape paintings on YUPO depicting conservation efforts in Hillsborough County. This class is designed for students with a basic working knowledge of watercolor techniques. Jane will assist students in exploring their choice of hand building or wheel throwing. Students will receive individual attention and oversight while they learn to use the wheel, glazes, the extruder and slab-roller. Jane is a graduate of San Francisco State University and has taught pottery for over 30 years.
