BEACH ART CENTER ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2009

DIRECTORS: 6:10 meeting was called to order by-John Pickens-President, Diane O'Neill-Vice President, John Popular and Emily Maney , Barbie Tuft-Secretary, Excused: Larry Torgerson-Treasurer EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Grace Dimm -

The Beach Art Center is a non-profit organization, open to anyone who wishes to experience, Support and promote an appreciation of quality visual art.

WELCOME: Reading of Minutes - The meeting began @ 6:10 with approval by the board. John Pickens welcomed the Members and also introduced the Board.

NEW BUSINESS:
o This was the 31st ANNUAL BAC MEMBER SHIP MEETING John Pickens
The THEME was "HONOR THE PAST EMBRACE THE FUTURE"

o Gave on outline of the BAC History Frank Saso

o Outline of History on the BAC from the Fonders wife-Joanne King, Joanne King
the BAC was established In 1978 by George King. Joanne went over
George's Passion for the Arts and the Legacy he created.

o Reviewed outline of Memberships & and how to increase Ron Poole
Attendance at next membership mtg. & innovative ways to help the BAC.

o Promoted THANKS for the founding Members, and areas of Ralph
Enthusiasm & reaching out to additional Art Centers. Montgomery

o John Pickens called forward Board Nominations 7 read their bios John Pickens
on each 6 people accepted Nominations. Ron Poole, Janet Ward,
Michael Hurtack, Rosita Lacey, Bonnie Byrd , And Al Henss.

o Nominations were cast & the voting was closed by 1st & and 2nd BAC members.

o NEW NOMINATIONS to 2009-2010 BAC BOARD: 5 BOARD MEMBERS
Were added to the existing Board: Ron Poole, Janet Ward, Michael Hurtack,
Rosita Lacey , Al Henss.

Finances and INFO Grace Dimm
Grace reviewed expenses Month by Month in color chart, also reviewed
Profit loss chart & the Balance Sheet VS previous yr.

o SPECIAL WORKSHOP - mentioned by John Popular John Popular
April 24th (1-6)pm with Board & instructors, & invited members, to plan a
FOCUS OR VISION PLAN on areas that need to be addressed & accomplished

Income & Fundraising Events Grace/Diane /John
o Grace discussed the need for volunteers for this years
Beauty & the Beach which will be held on Saturday, April 4th. March 30th at 4:00
a planning mtg was set up to review the events needs.
o Diane O Reviewed the Monte Carlo Night fundraising event Diane O'Neill
The event was a huge success and thanked volunteers & for the donations.
The event brought in over $9,000.

o Dick Spires mentioned to update the out of date BAC By Laws.

o Diane informed the Board & membership that she would like to step down
From the BAC Board as of March 11, 2009.

o The next Board meeting will take place SEPTEMBER 14th, 2009 with the new
board in attendance, New 2009 Mtg dates: SEPT 14th, Oct 5th, Nov 2nd, Dec 7th,  2010- Jan 4th, Feb 1st & March 1st.
