BEACH ART CENTER SHOWS

SHOW ENTRY REQUIREMENTS BEACH ART CENTER

All exhibitors are urged to familiarize themselves with these exhibition rules and procedures. Please keep this on hand and refer to it prior to entering a show. These guidelines are compatible with those of all major art organizations and are a guideline for entering both our shows and shows of other organizations. These rules will benefit both the serious professional and those who paint and exhibit for pleasure.

ELIGIBILITY: Only members in good standing (annual dues current) are eligible to exhibit, unless the show is an 'open' competition.

FRAMING: Entries must be properly framed with wire for hanging (no sawtooth hangers or other contrivances) and completely ready for display. All paintings up to 22" X 28" may use glass. Larger paintings require Plexiglas. Frames must be simple in design. Gallery wrap is accepted assuming the quality of work on the front continues around the edges.

MATTING: A colored mat is permissible. Mats must be free of dust, dirt and small hairs or bugs.

ORIGINALITY: Each entry must be original work. Copies of photographs from magazines and copies of other artist's works may not be entered into competitions. (Some latitude may be allowed in a student show if credit is given to the original artist or source.)

NEW WORKS: Any winning artwork entered into a Beach Art Center competition may not be entered again into any Beach Art Center competition. All work should have been completed within the last two years.

SHOW FEES: All exhibiting artists must fill out an entry slip and pay the show fee at the time of entry. A sale price must be indicated on the exhibit card if the work is for sale.

WITHDRAWAL: No work shall be taken from the exhibit until the date for pickup. The exhibition chairman or the Executive Director must approve any exceptions and a waiver signed. Noncompliance can cause disqualification of the artist from future exhibits. In the event of a sale, a "sold" sign will be posted and the purchaser will be asked to leave the piece until the show ends.

PICKUP: It is necessary to pickup work promptly on the specified date and time, or arrange for someone else to do so. Due to a lack of storage we are not able to store paintings.

SALES: The Art Center appreciates a 30% donation from all show sales. The exhibiting artist is responsible for paying the tax on the sale to the state of Florida. .

REPRODUCTION: Unless specifically noted, the Beach Art Center shall have permission to photograph and reproduce, for publicity purposes and publication in our web page, any or all works of art placed on exhibition.

RESPONSIBILITY: All entries will be handled with the greatest care. The Beach Art Center is not responsible for loss or damage by any cause and all entries are submitted and received subject to this condition.

By entry into this show, it is understood the entrant understands and complies with all of the above.
